HYPHAE - An ecosystem of accompaniment
Hyphae welcomed back the invitation to notice what it feels like to be bodies in the company of other bodies. To connect community and businesses in an intimate environment and remember the distinct affordances of relating, conversing and collaborating together in person again.
I love to co-create with nature and to connect and journey alongside people who enrich and nourish our lives with their unique contributions. The inaugural ‘Hyphae’ Event held at the beginning of June (2022) was an opportunity for me to birth and bring a long term vision of mine into fruition; Hosting a collaborative Art & Lifestyle event in the heart of my Toronto home.
For the 2nd Hyphae event, I curated brands which would build upon the collective force we all felt at the first Hyphae experience by introducing nutritional and mind health focused voices to contribute to the event’s tapestry. With the objective to create an immersive event that would touch on on ALL our human senses through; Taste, Smell, touch, sound and sight.
Collectively my curated makers, shakers, creators and visionaries contributed to each sensory daily living practice touch points with their unique offerings. From the clothes we consciously choose to wear (Luxton Woman), to the aromas that permeate our spaces (Sundays Company), to the textiles we touch (Lagom) and sleep in (Dreams Jumper) and by the art vistas we choose to engage and live with (Anna Church). And all of us had our ears and hearts opened by conversing in personalized connection & conversation.

We opened Hyphae with an intimate invitational evening VIP event. We sipped on beautiful wines sourced by Apparition Wines. our tastebuds were treated to mushroom inspired nutrient dense nibbles by Leaf & Bone and we listened and learnt from special guest speaker Alison Crosthwait talk about the mind health and healing benefits of micro-dosing Psilocybin. And had the opportunity to explore, touch, connect with and shop each collaborators offerings.
Hyphae Public Open Home Experience
The following day I open the doors of my home to the public to come and immerse themselves in the offerings of my collaborators. Gifting our Art & Design loving community the opportunity to connect to this exclusive selection of curated and consciously minded brands and home goods (which I personally love to live with) and promote the creators behind them. It was a beautiful connecting couple of days!
My vision as we collectively move forward and grow is to continue to develop a rhizomatic and transcultural approach in the way businesses work together. By revealing the beauty of each other’s contributions with a holistic and conscious minded approach to everyday living practices and how we value our purchases. And promote and strengthen a movement towards a circular business & community connected economy.
