Artist's Statement (Consciousness)

Intrigued by the concept of Consciousness, this body of work explores awareness as an evolving state—a dialogue between curiosity and creativity. For me, consciousness isn’t fixed. It’s fluid, expansive, and often mysterious. Inspired by meditative states and the dissolving of time during the creative process, each piece becomes a reflection on presence, perception, and the infinite possibilities that emerge when we surrender to the unknown.

Each work is composed intuitively, layering abstractly hand-painted glass surfaces into considered, sculptural compositions. The resulting surrealist-inspired imagery invites close inspection—rewarding those willing to pause, reflect, and quite literally feel as though they’re diving into the work. I see each piece as a portal: an invitation to slow down, explore, and connect with your own conscious state of mind.

Having lived half my life at the bottom of the globe (New Zealand), I like to think I bring a healthy dose of Kiwi ingenuity and a global perspective to everything I do. My work has been collected internationally and lives in expressive, design-forward interiors—where it sparks curiosity, connection, and conversation.

These pieces are designed to be striking focal points—integrated seamlessly into thoughtful, design-forward spaces. I hope this work offers a visual pause—one that invites presence, inspires reflection, and feels like a welcome cohabiter in your home.

I would love to hear from you!

I welcome questions about my existing body of work, framing, partnership opportunities as well as enquiries for commissions and bespoke art pieces. I look forward to connecting.
