Oh Paris, how I love thee!

There's something to be said about traveling with friends over family. As much as I love my family travel adventures, having shared expectations and agendas with friends who are seeking the same to do’s as you really enhances the travel experience! I'll travel with you anytime Amanda Mizen!
From its stunning architecture, history-rich streets and exceptional champagne, cuisine and museum culture, Paris is a destination unlike any other. The city has been drawing in travellers for centuries. Wander in and out of Parisian cafes, markets, beautiful gardens, and shops all whilst enjoying the romance of the city sights. We had an unforgettable trip, so I’m here to share my go to’s and must see places I explored during my time in this unforgettable city.

What would a trip to Paris be without a visit to the famous Eiffel Tower and a wonder through The Louvre Museum grounds. We did not go in this time. (FYI - With so many exhibits, you won’t get through everything in one day, so it’s a good idea to have a game plan to help you navigate the many exhibits).

I love architecture (I won’t lie, I took a thousand of photos of the buildings!). Simply wandering the streets of Paris was a thrill in itself and I couldn’t help but wonder, who lives behind those glorious facades!

Galleries

A highlight and one of my bucket list ticks was visiting Atelier Brâncuși’s replica of his studio at Centre Pompidou (I seriously took a million photos so I would not forget any inch of his work and this studio of my dreams!).

Bourse de Commerce I couldn’t have been in more awe admiring the sheer beauty of this unique building. Fully restored and renovated from its original origin as a place to negotiate the trade of grain and other commodities and provide services to businesses by the Paris Chamber of Commerce during the latter part of the 20th century. This venue now offers a fascinating dialogue between heritage and contemporary art.

OMG Le Galerie Dior - A Must experience for sure! We sipped our first glass of Champagne in the gorgeous cafe (the first of many, ha!). More of this experience can be viewed on my Instagram Reels here. Book your tickets in advance!

Eats & Drinks

On the topic of Champagne! We figured there’s no better place to drink it, than in Champagne itself and we did so in style, thanks to our super guide Preston from Get Your Ride. The drive home was full of backseat dancing (seatbelts on obvs) and a million belly laughs!

Notable mentions, of where we ate and drank fabulous Parisian Cocktails - Clown Bar, Frenchies, Amour

Montmartre Area

With its cobbled streets, an amaze of many small gardens, the stunning Basilica Sacré-Cœur, Montmartre is full of charm. Perched on the top of a small hill in the 18th arrondissement, the most famous Parisian district has lots of village atmosphere that appealed so much to the artists of the 19th and 20th centuries. It was also the backdrop of one of my favourite movies Amelie!
