Collaboration brings such fulfilment for me. I love nothing more than walking my path alongside people who enrich and nourish our lives with their creative contributions. The ‘Hyphae’ event and experience was both a metaphor and an ethos to this sentiment.
‘Hyphae’ was an opportunity to disconnect from the digital realm. Birthed as collaborative Art & Lifestyle event held in the heart of my home in Toronto. Curating this event gave me an opportunity to connect my design forward community to the products (and their creators) I love and love to live with. Through the curation of this exclusive collection of beautiful, consciously minded, sustainable brands and home goods, our collective hope is to enrich people’s everyday living practices. Along with the necessity to be conscious stewards to our planet and promote the movement toward a more circular economy and business & community connection.
Along with the unique opportunity to experience my latest artwork collection ‘Supernatural’ in person visitors had the opportunity to connect with my special guest collaborators - Dreams Jumper, Arking Atelier, Cylinder Ceramics Studio, Simone Ferkul, Guests on Earth and Good Neighbour
My hope for The Hyphae and future events of its kind, is to develop a rhizomatic and transcultural approach in the way businesses work together, by revealing the beauty of each other’s contributions in all areas of our everyday living practices. And be part of and promote the movement towards a more circular business & community connected economy.
On the day the sense of collaboration and connection was profound. Collaborators (some of whom had never met each other before) connected and created new collaborative initiatives together. Visitors felt connected and nurtured in the intimate home environment too. We could all feel there was magic in the air!
We can’t wait to do it again in the FALL!
