Spring Clean your walls!

Guys, we made it! It’s well and truly spring. Perhaps some of you are diligent spring cleaners while others are simply spring ‘sprucer-uppers’. A great way to refresh your living space and reimagine stale corners of your home is to introduce a new art piece!

This is a particular trick of mine; and some suggestions you can consider_

  • I’m always changing the layout of a room and refreshing tired corners with freshly styled vignettes (with objects that are already on hand around my home).
  • I swap around where my art hangs, an instant reimagining of your interior décor. Particularly exciting when you’re adding a new picture to your collection.
  • A new plant (or perfectly sourced rug) in an existing nook breathes new life into the area.

Gallery walls, gallery walls, gallery walls. These have been on trend for years, but really speak to my love of vignettes and mixing groupings of art. Here are a few favourites examples_

All these changes are relatively small but can make significant impacts to your home. Alter the vistas and it’s a true revitalization of your space.

If you are going to be adding to your collection (and I will have some exciting new editions for you to choose from shortly!) I found a wonderful article about the best way to select your new wall art and wanted to add to my favourite suggestions.

Search for pieces that are the right size. I completely agree. As they suggest, bigger is better when it comes to making an impact but find the right size for your space. Here you can see how two completely different sized photos of mine make an equal impact because they’re hanging in the right sized space.

The article also suggests using works by the same artist or works with common styles to create a cohesive and curated look. This is a great tip!

Hope this has been helpful as you consider refreshing your home for spring – and perhaps even selecting a new piece of art!
