Do you look for art with a nature theme or sentiment? Are indoor plants a way in which you decorate your home? Do you choose to mix upcycled, sourced antiques, treasures, or flea market finds with new?
If you nodded to some or all the above, I reckon you can call yourself an 'Interior Environmentalist’. Interior Environmentalists love introducing nature into their homes through pot plants, cut flowers, art or textiles. They have been known to drool at the characteristics of an old abandoned piece of furniture they can see the potential in stripping back and reupholstering. And for them, the perfect flea market or mid century find holds far more appeal than something straight out of a catalogue.
I share these loves too! Our home is a forever changing canvas for spontaneous creativity and rearrangement! I could blame it on my years working as an interior stylist but I think it’s just innate. I'm a constant re-arranger. Vignettes around our home take on new forms quite often - it’s another way to keep things fresh without feeling propelled to buy something new! Do you believe a home's environment can be a beautiful and thoughtful vessel of reused simplicity, without the need for over consumption? Me too!
