Macrame Me!

With each changing season I do a little side project for my favourite local shop, Good Neighbour. It's a chance for me to stretch my creative muscles in another direction. With winter knocking at the door I wanted to create something that felt warm, cosy and inviting and that would compliment their ethos and beautiful interior aesthetic ... oh, and not be too Christmassy cliché.

So off I popped, down to my local haberdashery for some inspiration. And I found it! Big thick soft rope, that screamed the feeling of winter warmth and the wearing of cable-knit jerseys.

Being an avid fan of the macrame resurgence (but never actually haven done it ever before), I set about making a macrame curtain. A bit of a Pinterest search later and BOOM, I found these handy DIY tips (thanks to a Beautiful Mess), and away I went creating my first Macrame creation.

I found the repetition extremely therapeutic, now I'm hooked and will endeavour to craft something a little more ambitious on my next attempt (inspired by the examples below).

Who needs meditation when you can Macrame!
